Radoslaw Markowski, obtained his PhD from University of Warsaw in 1990. Currently professor of political science. Director of the Center for the Study of Democracy at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Warsaw and PI of the Polish National Election Study. Specializes in comparative politics, democracy/democratization, party systems and electoral studies. He has published extensively in peer reviewed journals, among other in Electoral Studies, Party Politics, Political Studies, West European Politics, Acta Politica member of an editorial or advisory boards of European journal of Political Research, Political Studies, European Union Politics among other. Visiting Professor at
Duke University (1994/5), Wisconsin-Madison (1997-8), Rutgers (2002/3); recurring visiting professor at CEU, Budapest. Main books: Post-communist Party Systems (Cambridge University Press 1999, co-author), Europeanising Party Politics? (Manchester University Press 2011, co-editor) and Democratic Audit of Poland (Peter Lang 2015, co-author). Winner – either individual or collective – of many important research grants, both from the Polish Science Foundation (NCN, formerly KBN) or Framework Programs (FP 6 – CIVICACTIVE and INTUNE and FP7 – PIREDEU). For almost two decades member of the Planning Committee of the CSES (Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (1997-2015).
